Welcome Letter from your manager, Greyson Peltier
Dear New Player,
I am Greyson Peltier, the 13 year old manager and founder of the OC Youth Leader All Stars team. You may ask, "How did I come up with such a unique idea for a team?" This is both simple and complex. You see, I played for our opponent for about 3 years of my life.
Then, around my 11th birthday, I started to learn about the principles and values of the team I was playing against, and how they were more right (pun intended) than what my current team was teaching me. Keep in mind, this is all meant hypothetically. I learned this all at 1 Angels game and by listening to a radio station advertised on the megatron. Soon, I found the correlation between the competitive spirit of baseball and common issues facing our country.
Think about it, in baseball you work to build up a "fortune" of runs and defend it. Same in our economy and same with most all things in life, including giving back to any cause. This is what we're all about. No, you're not going to play real baseball but you will be helping a great cause and playing a game that is fueled by your effort and hard work. There are rewards involved, other than helping our nation, but we'll talk later about that.
So come on, you CAN influence your friends, set a positive example in the community, and help those in need through our fundamental style of "ball" (otherwise known as the Constitution). It's going to take as much effort as playing the toughest team in the league, but it's just as rewarding. You are after all an All Star, an OC Youth Leader All Star.
